We tend to forget that the early church was exclusively Jewish. The thought of non-Jews being included in the church community was shocking to them. It is ironic that Christianity today is sometimes seen globally as a western religion. In fact, those of us with no Jewish heritage should be humble and grateful to have been included in God’s chosen people.
