How can a Holy God live amongst a sinful people? Leviticus provides the Old Testament answer to this. Priests made continual sacrifices for the sins of the people. God also gave a system of clean and unclean, holy and unholy things. When an Israelite made themselves unclean they had to be purified. This points forward to the work of Jesus on the Cross.
